ORIGIN
Tommy Wiseau is an American actor, director, producer, and writer. He played dual roles as “Charlie” and “Ricky Rick” in the Hulu sitcom The Neighbors (2014). His film credits include The Room (2003), Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance (2015), and Best F(r)iends (2018). Wiseau was born Piotr Wieczorkiewicz on October 3, 1955 in Poznan, Poland. He lived in France before moving to the United States. His name was changed to ‘Tommy Wiseau’ when he became a naturalized U.S. citizen. Wiseau attended Laney College in Oakland, California. He took acting lessons at Vincent Chase Workshop, Jean Shelton Actors Lab, and Stella Adler Studio of Acting.

CAREER
Prior to acting/filmmaking, Wiseau worked odd jobs such as a street vendor, restaurant busboy, and hospital worker. He drew inspiration from James Dean, Marlon Brando, and Tennessee Williams among others. His on-screen debut was the independent drama film, The Room (2003). He also served as a writer, director, and producer. The film was made on a $6 million budget but did poorly at the box office. Wiseau directed and appeared in the documentary, Homeless in America (2004). He was cast as an interviewer. The film won the NY International Independent Film and Video Festival award for best social documentary. Wiseau guest-starred in a 2009 episode of the sketch comedy series Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!. He appeared in the short films, The House That Drips Blood on Alex (2010) and Bump (2011).

Wiseau created and starred in the Hulu sitcom ‘The Neighbors’. He played dual roles as “Charlie” and as “Ricky Rick”. The show premiered in March 2015. Wiseau co-starred with Greg Sestero in the comedy-thriller, Best F(r)iends (2018). He had a supporting role as “Linton Kitano” in Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance (2015). He made a cameo appearance in The Disaster Artist (2017) starring Dave Franco and James Franco. His credits also include Cold Moon (2016) with Josh Stewart, and Enter the Samurai (2016) with Matt Hannon.
