The First Presidency has announced the calling of 10 new directors of the Church's visitors centers and historic sites around the world. The new leaders and their wives will be trained at the Provo Missionary Training Center beginning Feb. 5, 2001, and then begin their two-year service.
The new directors and their wives are:
Cove Fort (Utah) Historic Site
A. Thomas and Nadine Nelson
A. Thomas Nelson, 67, born in Cottonwood, Utah, to Irvin T. and Kathleen B. Nelson; married Nadine Rutherford; parents of four children. Members of the Cottonwood 14th Ward, Salt Lake Big Cottonwood Stake. He is ward mission leader and has served as missionary at the Washington D.C. Temple Visitors Center and bishop; and is an emeritus professor of accounting.
Sister Nelson was born in Salt Lake City to Verl L. and Elva Mary Lythgoe Rutherford. She is a stake missionary and has served as missionary in Washington D.C. Temple Visitors Center, member of Tabernacle Choir.
Hawaii Temple Visitors Center
Bonnie and L. Don LeFevre
L. Don LeFevre, 67, born in Murray, Utah, to John A. and Valora Ella Allsop LeFevre; married Bonnie Charlotte Bloom; parents of five children. Members of the Woodland Hills Ward, Bountiful Utah Central Stake. He is a temple ordinance worker in the Bountiful Utah Temple and served in a stake mission presidency. He was manager of print media relations for the Church.
Sister LeFevre was born in Salt Lake City to George E. and Bertha Agnes Borgquist Bloom. She is a temple worker and as served in the auxiliaries and as a stake missionary.

Joanne and George J. Romney
George J. Romney, 66, born in Salt Lake City to Marion G. and Ida Olivia Jensen Romney; married Joanne Jensen; parents of six children. Members of the Old Mill Ward, Salt Lake Butler Stake. He is a gospel doctrine teacher and has served as astake missionary,counselor in stake mission presidency and bishop; and was an attorney at law.
Sister Romney was born in Great Falls, Mont., to Clinton and Annie Berg Jensen. She has served as Relief Society and Primary president, hostess chairman at Joseph Smith Memorial Building, in auxiliary presidencies.

Shirley and Edward J. Johannesen
Edward Jones Johannesen, 66, born in Vancouver, British Columbia, to Johannes and Olga Regina Benson Johannesen; married Shirley Irene Sigurjonsson; parents of nine children. Members of the Mount Vernon 1st Ward, Mount Vernon Washington Stake. He is stake president and has served in stake presidency and bishop; he is an electrical contractor.
Sister Johannesen was born in Edmonton, Alberta, to Sigtryggur and Rosa Fredericksson Sigurjonsson. She is a gospel doctrine teacher and seminary supervisor, and has served in stake and ward auxiliary presidencies.

David M. and MelRae Brown
David Marion Brown, 62, born in Elmo, Utah, to Earl D. and Afton Ann Brown; married MelRae Bateman; parents of four children. Members of the Mountain Oaks Ward, Sandy Utah Lone Peak Stake. He is a counselor in stake mission presidency and has served as president of Idaho Boise Mission, served twice as stake president and twice as bishop; and was senior vice president of Network Systems Corp.
Sister Brown was born in Murray, Utah, to Noal Cushing and Beth Erwell Thompson Bateman. She serves as Relief Society teacher, and in ward and stake auxiliary presidencies.

Paul Paramore Clayton, 64, born in Salt Lake City to Robert Wells and Ruth Laura Clayton; married Beverly Ann Geurts; parents of five children. Members of the Mueller Park 9th Ward, Bountiful Utah Mueller Park Stake. He serves as high priests group leader and has served twice as a bishop; owner of Rocky Mtn. Fab.
Sister Clayton was born in Salt Lake City to Theodore I. and Fay Parkin Geurts. She has served as visiting teacher supervisor, Relief Society president, counselor in Young Women presidency, Cub Scout den leader and stake Laurel sports director.

Alfred Clyde Van Wagenen, 69, born in Ogden, Utah, to Clyde L. and Genevieve Van Wagenen; married LuRee Tolman; parents of five children. Members of the Fruit Heights 1st Ward, Fruit Heights Utah Stake. He serves as ward family history consultant and was stake president, president of stake mission, and bishop; district judge in Utah.
Sister Van Wagenen was born in Logan, Utah, to Bion and Lucille Morgan Tolman. She serves as ward family history consultant and has served in the auxiliaries.

Roy Wennerholm Jr., 69, born in Oxnard, Calif., to Roy and Lauretta Rosella Wennerholm; married Beverly Ann Smith; parents of five children. Members of the Gunlock Ward, Ivins Utah Stake. He is on the high council and has served as president of the Philippines San Pablo Mission, counselor in the Provo Missionary Training Center presidency, stake president and bishop; CEO of St. George Financial and Insurance Center.
Sister Wennerholm was born in Oxnard, Calif., to Clifford William and Helen Margaret Winiker Smith. She serves as counselor in the stake Relief Society and in stake and ward auxiliary presidencies.

M. Garfield Cook, 60, born in Woodbury, N.J., to Melvin A. and Wanda Cook; married to Margo Dawn Taylor; parents of nine children.
